Day 5: low-fat detox

Standard

Breakfast

1. Fruit Smoothie: 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 1 banana, 1/2 cup blue berries, 1 scoop flaxseeds + toasted whole wheat english muffin with nut butter + 1-2 green or oolong tea

Mid morning snack

2. 1 grapefruit or orange + 8-10 walnuts

Lunch

3. Salad:  1/2 cup broccoli, 1 cup spinach, 1/2 cup sugar snap peas, 1/2 cup red lettuce , 1/2 cup olives tossed with 2 tbsp reduced fat feta cheese, 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar and 1 tbsp olive oil + 8-10 whole wheat crackers + 8-16 oz water/flavored water

Mid afternoon snack

4. 1/2 cup baby carrots ( 10-12) and 2 tbsp hummus + 1-2 green or oolong tea

Dinner

5. One 4 oz grilled chicken breast seasoned with rosemary, garlic and thyme + baked cauliflower: 2 cups chopped cauliflower topped with 3 tbsp shredded reduced fat  mozzarella and baked in a pre-heated oven at 325 degrees for 15-22 minutes

After dinner snack

6. 1 Jello cup + green or oolong tea
