Tiffany's Story; Before & After Photos

Look at my waist! I have lost 7pounds in almost 3 weeks because of the exercise regimen Stacey and Dr. Rogers recommended. Stacey also agreed that pre-prepping my meals to control portions was a good idea so I grilled chicken breasts and used them everywhere: in pitas, in spinach salads and with left over sides. For breakfast I usually stick to variations of oatmeal made with Almond milk but lately I’m digging it made with fruit and nuts.

Tiffany’s Story: week 3

ImageThis week was FANTASTIC! Nothing keeps you motivated like someone saying, “Wow, you look great! What have you been doing?” And that’s what I heard a lot of from friends, family, and even doctors at appointments. THAT helped me realize that the hard work is paying off and gave me the boost I needed to keep going. I’ve lost a total of 7lbs as of Thursday. The eating is much easier and I even find myself always looking from something new to try (i.e. food prepping for the week, a new exercise, clean food recipes, or ways to get rid of a certain craving). I slacked off on my water consumption for one day and I felt it. I woke up with a HORRIBLE headache the next day.  So now I drink 2 ½ to 3 liters of water a day. I went to the gym 6 days this week and did cardio for 45 minutes to an hour. Another cool thing is that I have a couple of friends that have asked to come to the gym with me. It makes me feel good and it pushes me to go on the days that I don’t want to go because they want to go.

Sunday, un-Monday

Standard

It’s Sunday, 19 degrees out here in Brooklyn, NYC and my strength is at about 60% of normal. It has been a long month

Sunshine!

and the work effort sure has caught up to me physically and emotionally; one can only pull 70 hour weeks for so long! So as I’m sitting here desperately trying to soak up the sunlight filtering through my window this morning, I am considering at what pace I will travel this Sunday. The frail as a bird feeling in my bones and slight shortness of breath tells me that exercise might have to wait until tomorrow.

For some of us Sunday is a day of rest and worship, for others it means Sunday Fun day – a day of bar and brunch related shenanigans. To me, the most important thing is that Sunday not feel like Monday. It is a time to re-charge and revive, clean the homestead and relish the fact that I am not at work.  Although, I have to say that this pile of laundry and dirty carpet looks like work…at least it’s working for me and no one else! How do you spend your Sundays?
